Create a reviewing panel

Panels let you select what applications get reviewed, by whom and when. You can configure as many panels as necessary for a score set. For example, you may have a different panel for each category.

Tip: it is highly recommended that you add yourself to any panel you create so that you can check your configuration progress; see: How do I test my reviewing setup?

Before configuring a panel, you will need to have created a score set and a reviewing round. Then:

  1. From the Manage workspace, navigate to Reviewing > Settings > Panels
  2. Click New panel and, if multiple forms have been configured, choose your desired form
  3. Provide a Panel name
  4. Choose the Score set you want to create a panel for
  5. In the 'Applications' section, check the categories/chapters/tags for applications that are to be reviewed
Important: programs that are not utilising moderation should not select the Only include moderation approved applications checkbox.
  6. In the 'Who' section select who will be allowed to review
Note: if you want to allow anybody with a specific role to review, select Any users with a role and then check the role. If that role does not have judging permissions associated with it already, doing this will grant those permissions.
  7. In the 'When' section, check the round configured earlier, for when reviewing will be permitted
  8. Save

If the reviewer role is selected on the panel, as opposed to selecting individual reviewers, the actual assignments are only created as the reviewers log in and begin their reviews. As a result, the progress view (Reviewing > Progress) will only display reviewers who have commenced their assignments and will only display the assignments that have been created so far. Rest assured, reviewers can certainly see all of their assignments when they login to review, even though the assignments may not yet be displayed in the progress view.

Note: when adding reviewers to a panel (or assigning applications to reviewers), Good Grants does not notify these reviewers automatically on your behalf. As reviewing can sometimes be configured weeks or months ahead of when the reviewing takes place, we leave it to you to contact reviewers when you're ready. To do so, we recommend sending a broadcast to your reviewers from the Reviewing > Settings > Assignments page once it's time for them to access their accounts.
