Using tags in your reviewing configuration
Distributing applications to the right reviewers in Good Grants is easy! The flexibility of the platform allows you to not only manually or randomly assign applications to reviewers or create reviewing panels, but disperse your applications based on a specific application tag. You may need to do this for a variety of reasons, but below you'll find two of the most common examples and how to configure them
Example one: applications in multiple languages
If you've opted to configure multiple languages for your program, you'll likely need to provide applications to different reviewers based on the language the application was submitted in. To set this up, follow these steps:
- Create your tags
- In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > General > Tags
- Click Add tag
- Type your desired tag into the Tag field
- Save
- Tag your applications via Applications in the Manage workspace; for instructions see: Ultimate guide to tags
- Set up your reviewing score set, scoring criteria (for Scoring reviewing only), and your reviewing round(s)
- Configure your reviewing panel
- From the Manage workspace, navigate to Reviewing > Settings > Panels
- Click New panel, choosing your desired form if multiple have been configured
- Provide your panel a name
Tip: this name is not shown to your reviewers and should be named to quickly identify what the panel includes, i.e. 'Round 1 - French'. - Select the proper reviewing mode and score set
- In the 'Applications' area, choose the category(ies) and/or chapters that should be included in this panel
- Under the 'Tags' heading, select your language tag, i.e. French
- In the 'Who' section, choose the role you'd like to assign to this panel or click Invited reviewers to only include certain reviewers
- Choose your desired round from the 'When' checkbox list
- Save
Example two: based on a specific field value
Within the application form, you may have a field configured wherein applicants provide data that you'll need to take into account when setting up reviewing. For example, academic programs may ask an applicant for their grade level to divide primary from secondary education applications and provide them to the proper reviewers.
Locate the field that you'd like to base your reviewing on in the Manage workspace and make it searchable; for instructions see the 'Add up to three search filters' section of this guide: How to search and filter
- Create your tags
-
- From the Manage workspace, go to Settings > General > Tags
- Click Add tag
- Type your desired tag into the Tag field
- Save
-
- Tag your applications via Applications in the Manage workspace, applying a filter in the advanced search for the searchable field
- Configure your reviewing panel
- In the Manage workspace, navigate to Reviewing > Settings > Panels
- Click New panel, choosing your desired form if multiple have been configured
- Provide your panel a name
Tip: this name is not shown to your reviewers and should be named to quickly identify what the panel includes, i.e. 'Round 1 - Primary education'.
- Save
Tags are also used to move applications between multiple reviewing stages if necessary. For more information, check out this guide: Moving applications between reviewing stages and selecting winners.
