Panels let you control which applications are reviewed, who reviews them, and when reviewing takes place.
You can create as many panels as needed for a score set. While panels are often used to assign applications by category, they also support more complex reviewing structures.
Before creating a panel, make sure you have
- Created a score set
- Created a reviewing round
Panels can be created manually or through Reviewing fast start.
Create a panel
To create a reviewing panel:
- In the Manage workspace, go to Reviewing > Settings > Panels
- Click New panel and choose the form
- Enter a panel name
- Choose the score set
- In 'Applications', select the categories, chapters, and/or tags to be reviewed
- In 'Who', choose who can review
- Select individual reviewers or
- Select Any users with a role and choose a role
- In 'When', select the reviewing round
- Click Save
Panel behaviour
Panels behave differently depending on how reviewers are assigned.
If a role is selected instead of individual reviewers:
- Assignments are created only when reviewers log in
- The progress view shows only reviewers who have started reviewing
- Not all assignments appear immediately
Reviewers will still see all their assigned applications when they log in.
Good to know
- Add yourself to panels to check your configuration progress.
- Programs not using moderation should not select Only include moderation approved applications.
- Selecting Any users with a role grants reviewing permissions to that role if they do not already have them.
- Reviewers are not notified automatically when added to a panel—send a broadcast when reviewers are ready to begin.
- Panels can be based on categories, chapters, tags, or a combination.
- Progress views update as reviewers begin their assignments.
