Add multiple languages

You can make your program multi-lingual to suit your users' demographics. Enabling additional languages is simple, and if you already have translations for your category names, fields, and other content, you can get started right away.

All system content, such as error messages, menu items, and button text, will be automatically translated.

Enable additional languages

  1. In the Manage workspace go to Settings > General > Languages
  2. Select the checkbox next to each language you want to add
  3. If multiple languages are selected, choose a default language using the Default radio button
  4. Click Save

Good to know

  • Adding languages after configuration has begun will not automatically translate custom content you've created.
  • Users will see your Good Grants program in their browser's default language if it matches one you've enabled.
  • You can switch your user's language at any time by clicking your name in the top right corner and choosing Profile

FAQs

How many languages can we use?

For programs on the Premium plan and above, you can configure as many languages as needed to support your program.

If I input information (such as questions for entrants) in English, does Good Grants automatically translate to additional selected languages?

No. Good Grants does not automatically translate content you create—such as fields, content, or notifications. These must be translated manually.

If an applicant answers in one language, can it be translated to another language for judges?

Not automatically. Application data can be translated using the Google Translate or DeepL integrations, but Good Grants does not perform these translations on its own.

Can I have notifications configured to send in multiple languages?

Yes. When you create email broadcasts or configure notifications, separate text fields appear for each enabled language so you can provide localised versions.

How does Good Grants manage right-to-left languages?

When Arabic or Hebrew is enabled, the interface automatically adjusts to right-to-left (RTL) display, ensuring correct alignment and readability.

Could we configure our program in one language and then translate to a chosen second language?

Yes. When additional languages are added, system content (like buttons, menus, and error messages) is translated automatically. However, custom elements—such as notifications, fields, and content—must be translated manually.
