Content configuration and management

There are set locations throughout the platform where text content can be displayed to provide information to users. These areas are called content blocks and typically appear as a block or box of text rather than a full page. Some locations can display more than one content block at a time.

New accounts include default text in some content blocks. You can use this content as-is or update it to suit your program.

Create or edit a content block

To create a new content block or edit an existing one:

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Content > Content blocks
  2. Click New content block or select an existing content block
  3. Under 'Content location', choose where the content should appear
  4. Add a Title
  5. Add or edit the Content
  6. Under 'Role visibility', choose whether the content is
    • Visible to all roles: makes the content available to everyone
    • Visible to some roles: allows you to select specific roles from a checkbox list
  7. In the Visibility drop-down, choose the default display state
    • Open initially, then closed: the block is open on first visit and closed on subsequent visits
    • Open: the block is open by default on every visit unless the user closes it
    • Closed: the block is closed by default but can be opened by the user
  8. Click Save

Format content

Content blocks support rich text formatting using the built-in text editor. You can apply formatting such as bold or italic text, lists, links, tables, images, and embedded media. HTML is not supported. To learn more, see Text editing options.

To remove a content block:

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Content > Content blocks
  2. Select the checkbox next to the content block
  3. Open the Action drop-down
  4. Choose Delete

Good to know

  • Content blocks are non-seasonal, so changes apply across all seasons, see What is seasonal in Good Grants?
  • Only some content block locations support role visibility selection.
  • The following locations do not support role visibility controls:
    • Contract
    • Role registration completed
    • Role registration form
    • Reviewer's confidentiality agreement
    • Cookie notice
    • Home page info box
    • Login page
  • Some content blocks support merge fields, allowing limited personalisation of content, see Personalising communications.
  • Images and embedded media must be publicly hosted to display correctly.
