Application thumbnails

Application thumbnails are displayed throughout the platform—for example, in the Applications view of the Manage workspace, galleries, and voting pages. Thumbnails are generated in a few ways:

  • If attachments are uploaded only into an attachments-type tab, the first image in that tab becomes the thumbnail.
  • If attachments are uploaded throughout the application form, the attachments-type tab takes precedence when selecting the thumbnail image.
  • For programs that do not collect images, thumbnails can be generated using URL fields. If videos are uploaded, the first frame of the first video becomes the thumbnail.

Changing the thumbnail image

If you want a specific image to appear as the thumbnail, follow the steps below.

For applicants

  1. In the Apply workspace, go to Applications
  2. Click your application name
  3. Open the attachments-type tab
  4. Use the small arrows beside the attachment number to move the preferred image into the first position

Good to know

  • If you do not see thumbnails in Applications, check that the 'Thumbnail' column is enabled using the cog menu,
  • Images larger than 16 300px square cannot be displayed as thumbnails.
  • An application round must be open for applicants to reorder attachments.
  • If there are no images or URL fields, thumbnails will appear blank in the Applications view.
  • Applications without images will also appear blank on the voting page.
