User registration
Registration in Good Grands only needs to be completed once per email address or mobile number. Once registered, a user can log into any program hosted on Good Grants using the same credentials. When a user logs into a program, the program’s default role is automatically applied.
Programs on the Premium subscription and above can collect additional information during registration using user fields. This information is linked to the user’s profile for that program only.
How a user is identified as unique
When someone registers in Good Grants, they must be uniquely identifiable. This identification is based on one of the following:
- An email address
- A mobile number
For more details, see Registration configuration.
How users access multiple programs
When a user registers with a program, three things happen:
- A user profile is created in the Good Grants user database
- A connection is created between the user and the program
- A role is applied to the user, defining their permissions in that program
A single user profile can be connected to multiple programs. The same user can also hold different roles in each program.
In the example below, the user has access to multiple programs. In one program, the user may have more than one role, such as grant manager and reviewer.
Good to know
- Registration only happens once per email address or mobile number. Users do not need to register again for a new program.
- Roles are applied per program, not globally.
- User fields are program-specific and do not carry across programs.
- Signing in automatically applies the program’s default role.
