Contracts

 

Good Grants allows account owners to create contracts which can be assigned to successful applications and signed by applicants. 

Create a contract

To create a new contract template:

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Grants > Contracts
  2. Click New contract template
  3. Provide a title 
  4. Add your contract content, using formatting or merge fields if needed
  5. Click Save

Assign a contract to an application

To assign a contract to a successful applicant:

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Applications
  2. Click the name or ID of the application
  3. Open the 'Grant' tab
  4. Click Add contract under 'Contracts' 
  5. Choose the contract from the drop-down list

You can also assign a contract from the applications list view by opening the overflow menu (three dots) and selecting Add contract

Assign contracts in bulk

To assign contracts to multiple applications:

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Applications
  2. Tick the applications you want to update
  3. Open the Action drop-down
  4. Select Add contract
  5. Choose your contract 
  6. Click Add contract

Sign a contract

Once a contract has been assigned to an application, a Sign contract button appears the applicant's view. 

Applicants can sign three ways:

  • Draw their signature using a mouse or trackpad
  • Type their name
  • Upload an image of their signature

A timestamp and a PDF copy of the signed contract appear in the applicant's profile. 

Manage current contracts

To view all active contracts, go to Grants > Contracts.

Remove a contract

You can remove unsigned contracts from an application.

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Applications
  2. Scroll to the 'Contracts' section 
  3. Click the overflow menu (three dots) next to the contract
  4. Select Delete

Good to know

  • You can create unlimited contract templates.
  • You can hide contract fields behind the overflow menu for easier management.
  • Contracts can be assigned individually or in bulk.
  • Signed contracts cannot be deleted or edited.
  • Contract content blocks can be updated, but existing signed contracts will not change.
  • Applicants can sign by drawing, typing or uploading their signature.
  • Branding carries over because applicants sign within your Good Grants account.
  • Applicants are not notified automatically when a contract is assigned.
  • Use broadcasting and tags to notify applicants about outstanding contracts.

FAQs

Are there limits on the number of contracts I can configure?

No. You can configure as many contracts as you need. 

Can we make the contract part of the application form? 

No. Contracts can only be assigned after an application has started.

Can we add our own branding? 

Yes. Contracts use your program's branding. You can also add images through the text editor. 

Can I set a deadline for contract signing? 

No. Deadlines are not supported for contracts. 

Do signees need to register for Good Grants?

Yes. Applicants must sign in to sign their contract. 

Can multiple people sign a contract? 

No. Only the applicant can sign. You can use an action flow task to collection additional information if needed. 

How are applicants notified that they have a contract to sign? 

Good Grants dos not notify applicants automatically. Use tags and broadcasts to send reminders.
