Can I use iFraming?

While iFraming may seem like an easy way to embed Good Grants into your organisation's website, it is not supported. There are several important technical, security, and usability reasons for this decision.

What is iFraming?

iFraming is a method of embedding one HTML document inside another. In this scenario, Good Grants would appear inside a frame on your website rather than being accessed via a direct link.

The intention is usually to make the application or reviewing process appear as though it is part of your website.

Why iFraming is not supported

Good Grants actively blocks iFraming for the reasons outlined below.

  • Security risks: iFrames can expose applications to security vulnerabilities. Blocking iFraming helps protect both your data and your users.
  • Poor user experience: iFrames often result in nested scrolling. Users may be forced to scroll both the page and the frame, creating a frustrating and confusing experience.
  • Not responsive: iFraming interferes with responsive design. This can severely limit usability on mobile devices and tablets, and may prevent access to certain functionality altogether.
  • Inconsistent browser behaviour: iFrames behave differently across browsers. Good Grants is not designed or tested to run inside an iFrame, and browser-specific quirks can cause parts of the platform to behave unpredictably or fail entirely.

The recommended alternative

Instead of iFraming, we recommend linking directly from your website to your Good Grants account.

Good Grants pages are fully brandable, so the experience remains visually consistent with your organisation. The only visible difference for users is the URL—and this can be customised if required.

Using galleries for public display

If your goal is to showcase applications publicly, the best solution is to use a gallery.

Galleries are designed specifically for public viewing and provide:

  • A responsive, device-friendly experience
  • A visually engaging layout
  • Fast setup with minimal configuration

You can link to a gallery directly from your website, making it a flexible and polished solution. Galleries can be prepared in advance or made live as soon as winners are selected. Learn more in Configure a gallery.
