What does, 'Your connection is not private' message mean?

Each Good Grants account is assigned a secure, certificate-backed URL that follows a specific format, for example:

  • yourprogram.grantplatform.com
  • yourprogram.awardsplatform.com
  • yourprogram.staffexcellence.com

Security certificates are issued for the exact URL associated with your account. If a slightly different address is used, the browser may display a “Your connection is not private” warning.

Your connection is not private example

A common cause of this error is adding "www." to the beginning of the URL.

How to resolve the error

  1. Check the URL in your browser’s address bar
  2. If the URL begins with "www.", remove it
  3. Reload the page using the corrected address

Once the www. is removed, the page should load normally without any security warnings.

Good to know

  • Good Grants does not support www. prefixes on account URLs.
  • Using www. creates a non-functioning redirect and triggers certificate warnings.
  • Always share and bookmark the exact account URL provided in your account settings.
