Ultimate guide to home page configuration

Your program’s home page is the starting point for users to log in or register. Good Grants gives you the flexibility to customise this page with branding, featured categories, public galleries, and more.

Enable or disable registration

You can control whether new users can register. To toggle registration:

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Users > Registration
  2. Select or deselect Enable user registration
  3. Click Save

3rd party authentication 

You can allow users to log in or register using Facebook, Twitter / X, WordPress, SAML, SSO and other providers.

Configure branding

You can add logos, images and colours to your home page through the theme settings in Settings > General > Theme. Branding elements include:

  • Home logo for desktop
  • Home logo for mobile
  • Home background image
  • Footer image
  • Colours

Recommended dimensions are included below.

Home logo (desktop)

  • Appears when users visit your program on a desktop or large tablet
  • Can be aligned left, centre, or right
  • Displays at the exact size of the uploaded file

Recommended dimensions: 700 × 250 px

Home logo (mobile)

  • Appears when users visit your program on a mobile device
  • Can be aligned left, centre, or right
  • Displays at the exact size of the uploaded file

Recommended dimensions: 300 × 200 px

Home background image

  • Fills the available background space on the login page
  • Automatically cropped to match screen size

Recommended dimensions: 1920 × 1000 px

Content blocks

Two content blocks can appear on the home page

  • Home page description
  • Home header info box

These can be edited or added in Settings > Content > Content blocks.

If your program includes a public About page, a link to this page will also appear on the home page.

Display category on home page

You can highlight a category on your login page.

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Applications > Categories
  2. Select the category
  3. Under 'Display category on public home page', select Yes
  4. Select Save

Public galleries

Public galleries are automatically shown on your home page.

Good to know

  • Theme customisation varies by subscription level.
  • Image optimisation may reduce asset quality slightly to ensure fast loading.
  • Home logos are not scaled and appear at the uploaded size.
  • Cropping of images may occur depending on user device and browser size.
  • Content blocks provide flexible ways to add information to your home page.
  • Public galleries require the Premium plan or above.
  • The About page link appears automatically when the page is visible to all roles.
  • SSO and 3rd party authentication options are configured separately.
