Providing category descriptions to reviewers

By default, category descriptions help applicants choose the correct category but do not appear in reviewing. If required, you can display category descriptions to reviewers by adding them as content fields and making them visible in reviewing.

Create category descriptions

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Applications
  2. Click Edit form and choose a form
  3. Hover within the 'Start here' tab under the category drop-down
  4. Select the + icon
  5. Set Field type to Content
  6. Add the category description in the Label field
  7. Under 'Field access', deselect Read to hide the description from applicants
  8. Select Field applies to some categories
  9. Choose the relevant categories
  10. Click Save
  11. Repeat for each category that needs a description.

Add descriptions to reviewing

  1. In the Manage workspace, go to Reviewing > Settings > Score sets
  2. Select your score set
  3. Open the 'Display' tab
  4. Under 'Field visibility', select the visible checkbox for the description field
  5. Click Save

Good to know

  • Applicants will not see the descriptions if Read access is disabled.
  • Field visibility for reviewing is controlled per score set.
  • This approach avoids duplicating information elsewhere.
