The copy application integration allows managers to create a duplicate of an application when the original application has been submitted or tagged. Managers can set the category, chapter, and form for the new application, choose which field data to copy, select the owner, and optionally tag the original application.
Common uses
- Allow applicants to nominate someone, creating a user and application for the nominee
- Pass successful applications through application stages when tagged
- Assign applications to chapters or regions based on tags added
- Create applications in multiple categories if it is eligible for more than one
- Create simplified versions of applications
Configure the integration
- In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Integrations > Marketplace
- Select Copy application
- In the popup, select Configure
- Edit the integration name if needed, then select Next
- Review the information in the 'How it works' step and click Next
- In the 'Form configuration' stop, select your source and destination forms
- Click Next
- In the 'Form mapping' step, click Add to Application Resource Map
- Choose your forms from the drop-downs
- Click Next
- If applications should be copied into the same category click Next in the 'Category' step
- Should applications need to be copied to another category, toggle on the Category Picker and input your destination category's slug—instructions to find the slug are listed in-app—before clicking Next
- To tag the original application, toggle on the Confirmation Tag and input your desired tag before clicking Next
- In the next three steps, select the applicant that should be associated with the new application
- If the applicant is the same as the original, choose Applicant. First Name, Applicant. Last Name, and Applicant. Email
- If the owner of the new application is someone named in the original application, choose those fields from the drop-downs
- Click Next
- In the 'Events' step, choose whether the application should be copied on submission or when a specific tag is applied
- Click Next
- In the 'Field mapper' step, click Add to Field Map to select the field data that should be copied from the original application into the copy
- Click Next
- Select Finish when complete
Good to know
- Attachment files cannot be copied between applications.
- An application with the confirmation tag applied will not be copied. If you would like to trigger a copy you will first need to remove the confirmation tag. For this reason we would also recommend using different confirmation tags so that you can filter by tags later, if necessary.
- A randomly generated password is assigned to all new applicants. Manager must contact those users to let them know they have a user profile and provide instructions for login.
