Accessibility in Good Grants

Accessibility at Good Grants

At Good Grants, accessibility is at the heart of what we create. We believe everyone should be able to access beautiful, intuitive software.

Good Grants is fully compliant with:

  • WCAG 2.2 AA standards
  • Revised Section 508 standards
  • EN 301 549 accessibility requirements

Captions

The Good Grants video player supports captions to provide text alternatives for video content.

Applicants can also upload their own caption files to display on-screen subtitles during playback.

Transcripts

Transcripts can be uploaded for audio or video content separately from captions. These can be added as fields within Good Grants for accessible review.

Keyboard navigation

The Good Grants platform can be fully navigated using only a keyboard for users who cannot or prefer not to use a mouse.

Assistive technology

Good Grants fully supports assistive technologies such as screen readers, which convey content to users.

The platform follows WCAG 2.2 AA standards for role, state, and property naming, ensuring assistive tools can interpret content accurately.

User preferences

Good Grants inherits a user’s browser settings for font size and allows zooming in or out of the interface.

The app is fully responsive, accessible on phones, tablets, and desktops, and has been tested on window zoom up to 500%.

Colour contrast

The default theme colours in Good Grants are designed to meet accessibility standards and ensure high contrast between text and background.

When configuring your own theme, keep accessibility in mind. Not sure if your branding meets requirements? Try an online tool like WebAIM Contrast Checker or use a browser plug-in such as Accessibility Insights.
