You may wish to collect additional information about users that is separate from the application form.
Examples include:
- Address
- Title
- Occupation
- Job position
This information is collected using user fields, also known as user resource fields.
User fields:
- Are linked to the user account
- Are completed during registration or login
- Are not part of the entry form
To learn how to create user fields, see the guide: Add a user field.
Seasonal user fields
Seasonal user fields are specific to a season. The information collected:
- Applies only to the active season
- Is copied into new seasons as a blank field
- Must be completed again when a new season becomes active
This type of field is useful when the information changes each season or is relevant only for a specific time period.
Non-seasonal user fields
Non-seasonal user fields apply across all seasons.
The information collected:
- Is stored permanently on the user profile
- Remains populated when a new season is created
- Does not need to be re-entered each season
This type of field is suitable for information that does not change often.
When creating a user field, you can choose whether it should be seasonal or non-seasonal in the field settings.
Good to know
- User fields are associated with the user account, not applications.
- Seasonal user fields reset when a new season becomes active. Non-seasonal user fields persist across all seasons.
