Social sharing configuration

Social sharing icons appear in various areas of Good Grants to encourage users to share your program on social media.

By default, five icons display wherever social sharing buttons are placed. The specific social networks and their order depend on each user’s personal social media behaviour. This ensures the most relevant networks are displayed to maximise engagement.

If you'd like to control which social networks/tools are displayed and their order, you can do so by creating a free account with Shareaholic. This optional feature can be deactivated if not appropriate, for example, with internal company programs.

If the 'Request explicit consent to cookies from users' option is enabled in Settings > Users > Registration, social cookies need to be accepted before the social sharing buttons will display. Accepting social cookies is an individual user decision and cannot be enforced. If cookie consent option is not required, it will be assumed and the social sharing buttons will display.

Activate or deactivate social sharing

  1. In the Manage workspace, navigate to Settings > Communications > Social
  2. Select Activate social sharing buttons
  3. Add a Default sharing message, Share title, Description, and Share image
  4. Click Save

To deactivate social sharing, deselect the Activate social sharing buttons checkbox and click Save.

Configuration options explained

Default sharing message

A short message passed to social networks that support pre-filled text users can edit before posting.
Used by X (Twitter) and Tumblr.

Share title

The title of the post shared to social networks that support titles, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and email.

Description

A short summary that appears below the title when shared. This also acts as your program’s SEO description in search results. Used by Facebook, Tumblr, and search engines.

Share image

The image that appears with shared content.

  • Facebook recommends 1200 × 630 px for best quality
  • Facebook preview display: 470 × 246 px
  • X (Twitter) preview display: 506 × 253 px
  • Do not upload images smaller than 200 × 200 px, as they may not display correctly

If a share image is not provided:

  • Your program’s home page logo is used
  • If no home page logo exists, the header logo is used
  • If neither is available, the home page background image will be shared

Site ID and App ID

Connecting to Shareaholic is optional. If used, these IDs allow you to track sharing analytics and manage which buttons appear.

Why is my old sharing configuring still showing?

If you’ve updated your share image, title, or description and still see old information, the social platform may be caching your previous configuration. This delay is caused by the platform, not AGood Grants.

You can manually refresh your data by using the tools below:

Use Shareaholic for advanced configuration
