The Copyleaks integration allows you to automatically scan applications for plagiarism and AI-generated content. Copyleaks reports are saved directly to an application field in your form for quick access and reference.
Common uses
- Automatically reject applications when plagiarism certainty exceeds a set percentage.
- Highlight applications likely to contain AI-generated content.
- Share Copyleaks reports with reviewers for additional context.
Events
Each scan is triggered by an event in Good Grants. You can choose one of the following:
- When an application is submitted or resubmitted
- When an application is tagged with a specific tag
To prevent double charging, only one trigger can be active per integration instance. If both are selected, only the tag trigger will be used.

Once Copyleaks has been enabled on your account, follow these steps:
Step one: create a field for the report
- In the Manage workspace, go to Applications
- Click Edit form and select your form
- Create a field where the Copyleaks report will appear
- (Optional) Prefix the Short title with “001” (e.g. 001 Copyleaks report field) to make it easier to find in later steps
- To hide it from applicants, deselect the Read and Write checkboxes in the 'Access' section
- Click Save
Step two: configure the integration settings
- In the Manage workspace, go to Settings > Integrations > Marketplace
- Select Copyleaks
- In the pop-up, click Reconfigure
- In the 'Initial configuration' step, update the name of the integration if desired, then click Next
- In the 'Connect' step, click Next again to sync your account
- In the 'Resources' section, select the form you want to scan
- In the 'Events' section, choose the event that will trigger the scan—only one should be selected
- (Optional) Enable automatic rejection above a specific certainty threshold with the If you would like to automatically reject applications above a certain threshold of confidence set that here toggle
- Click Next
- In the 'Fields' section, select the Copyleaks report field you created earlier
- Click Finish to complete configuration
How it works
Once configured, each time a Copyleaks scan runs, the report will be automatically printed into the specified report field. This links the report directly to the entry, making it easy to locate later.
Good to know
- Each applicant receives a unique ID so their subsequent submissions aren’t flagged as self-plagiarism.
- Only one trigger (submission/resubmission or tagging) can be active at a time.
- Copyleaks results should be used as an indicator, not absolute confirmation of plagiarism or AI-generated content.
- For security and consistency, store reports in hidden fields if they’re for administrative use only.
- You can combine Copyleaks with tagging workflows to automate quality control.
